July - September 2010
Hayawi hayawi, sasa yamekuwa! October is just around the
corner, time to vote and choose the citizens who will manage
our resources and lead us in making important decisions for
our beloved Tanzania. Our country is so rich, yet so poor…
why is that?
How do we young people fit into the picture? Get it from
Nakaaya; she narrates her social and political encounters as
well as the decisions she has made as an artist, woman and a
young Tanzanian to take action.
Our VOICES have to be heard. The decisions we make today
shape our futures, and so we have to make informed decisions!
This issue opens a few secret boxes to help us understand
how and why we should exercise this democratic right.
Democracy is not only about Governments and States but
also our everyday lives. Gender equality in decision making
is not only a matter of fulfilling promises but also a true representation
of our ever growing population. We cannot have a
progressive society without empowered women.
So, read about your democratic rights and responsibilities,
stories of those who have walked the road, statements of
courage to try and never give up, bila kusahau vimbwanga,
mishe mishe na mizengwe ya uchaguzi. All in one!
The future is ours, let’s start building it now. What are you
doing to help Tanzania reach its potential? |
